Buyer beware: The overpriced C4 Corvette

Don’t let a fancy red paint job and some flashy wheels seduce you. It’s fairly easy to look a C4 corvette over. ALL of them will have something wrong with them due to age, but when it comes to buying a turd, it can make your otherwise awesome ownership experience seem like you should have just bought a clapped out Hyundai instead.

A dealership in Davenport Iowa has this red 91 corvette for sale. Asking 13,500. After seeing how poorly the car looked, I was not concerned with any other details.

What will it need to make it a decent driver aside from any mechanical problems? All new weatherstripping, and a new top. All pretty easy, but if you don’t know what you are doing, you can easily spend thousands more on a car that still needs a total repaint to get the looks where they should be.
