Playing sports is a great way to get your daily exercise in for the day. It doesn't matter what sport you play, as long as you are enjoying it, that is the main goal! One fun sport to play is badminton, it is actually the fastest racket sport with shuttle speed around 200 mph. It is the second most popular sport, after soccer. If we wanted to start a match, most of us would grab a friend, a racket and a shuttlecock, but if there are strong gusts of wind, another person doesn't seem to be necessary, according to this man in the video.

A strong gust of wind in Taiwan gives this man a chance to play badminton against himself! The force of the wind is so strong, the shuttlecock comes right back to him, so cool! Playing against yourself is actually quite difficult! This man is putting a lot of effort into this match, but it looks like nature is going to beat him this time. The wind is returning the shuttlecock at a very fast speed, what a great way to practice and perfect your skills, awesome. What a smart idea this man came up with!

There is a science behind people’s love for sport. Sport is not only a hobby. It is backed up by a plethora of chemical activities in your body that make you crave the activity. It all boils down to a hormone called adrenaline. It is released by our adrenal glands usually in really stressful situations, thus getting the name ‘fight or flight’ hormone. What it does is speed up all of our normal body functions, starting with our heart beating faster, making the blood flow faster to wherever it is needed. Along with adrenaline, the body releases other hormones that flow faster through the blood vessels thanks to adrenaline, some of them being the hormone of happiness - serotonin and the natural pain-reliever, the hormone endorphin. This heady mix of hormones is what makes these activities worthwhile to the so called adrenaline junkies. Of course, there is also the knowledge that the love for whatever sport you may be practicing is shared with other 7 billion people. The adrenaline further helps you stabilize other hormones in your body, making you feel centered and calm. So next time when you decide to shoot the ball or fight against the water inside the public pool, remember that it’s not a mindless exercise, there is a logical explanation why you crave to do precisely that activity.
