UFC 293_ Israel Adesanya vs. Sean Strickland Recap Highlights

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is an American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, owned and operated by Endeavor Group Holdings along with Silver Lake Partners, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and MSD Capital through Zuffa, LLC. It is the largest MMA promoting company in the world and features some of the sport's highest level fighters on their roster. The UFC produces events worldwide featuring twelve weight divisions (eight men's divisions and four women's divisions) and adheres to the Unified Mixed Martial Arts Rules. As of 2020, UFC has hosted more than 500 events. Dana White has been president of the UFC since 2001. Under White's tutelage, the UFC has grown into a globally popular multi-billion dollar corporation.
The first event was held in 1993 at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. The aim of the Ultimate Fighting Championship competition was originally to identify the most effective martial arts in a contest with minimal rules and no weight classes between competitors from various fighting disciplines such as Boxing, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Sambo, Wrestling, Muay Thai , Karate, Taekwondo, and Judo. In combat, fighters began to adopt techniques that were effective in more than one discipline, which indirectly helped create the separate fighting style known as mixed martial arts today. In 2016, UFC's parent company, Zuffa, was sold to a group led by William Morris Endeavor (WME–IMG), including Silver Lake Partners, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and MSD Capital worth US$4.025 billion.
With TV deals and expansion in Australia, Asia, Europe, and new markets in the United States, the UFC has increased in popularity, and has achieved greater mainstream media coverage; the promoter generated US$609 million in total revenue in 2015, and a domestic media rights agreement with ESPN was valued at $1.5 billion over a five-year term.
