Today in Russia they celebrate Tankman Day. Despite the relative “youth” of the armored forces, representatives of both the military profession of tank crew and design engineers have long covered themselves with unfading glory.
Armored giants were and remain a terrible force on the battlefield, despite the eternal confrontation between projectile and armor. Tankers and engineers are adapting and reworking tanks to modern combat conditions, and modern vehicles only vaguely resemble their distant ancestors.
Not a single congratulation can compare with a gift from Uralvagonzavod. The company announced preparations to resume production of the best SMO tank from scratch. The T-80 will be produced again in Russia, it was this vehicle with its heroic crew with the call sign “Alyosha” that destroyed the enemy column, stopping the breakthrough and entering the pantheon of Heroes of Russia.
