“Facing the Accuser of the Brethren”
22nd In our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. The Operations of our Enemy - John 10:10
* A. From the first he was a deceiver in the Garden of Eden
* B. Lies are his specialty - John 8:44
* 1. He speaks lies even before God the Father as he lied about Job - Job 1:9-11; 2:4-5
* 2. He lies about us until he is cast out - Revelation 12:10 

II. The Disaster of Sexual Anarchy - 2 Peter 2:9-10
* A. God’s Law establishes good from evil, clean from unclean 
* 1. The Creator knows what works and what does not for the creatures He made - 1 Corinthians 6:13
* 2. These forms of immorality are destructive of body and soul - 1 Corinthians 6:18
* B. God has an especially suited judgment for those engage in such sin
* 1. In some intricate way these sins are coupled with despising God’s authorities, godly government  
* 2. Despising God’s Law as well as despising those who proclaim His Holy Law - Romans 1:28-32
* a. They are characterized as having a debased mind
* b. “Haters” are those who reject God and hate His Holy Law
* C. Their heart is filled with pride, arrogance is their pathway
* 1. They speak evil of that which is righteous 
* a. They are full of themselves, consumed by the will to power
* b. They are unlike God’s Holy Angels who would not bring reviling accusations before the Lord
* c. Their just punishment is guaranteed 
* 2. The saints will endure the injustice, the slander, the lies and false accusations as our Lord endured at the cross
