Moon🌙 #nasa #space #moon #earth #usa
The moon is Earth's only natural satellite. It orbits our planet at an average distance of about 238,855 miles (384,400 kilometers). It has a diameter of approximately 2,159 miles (3,474 kilometers) and is roughly 1/6th the size of Earth. The moon's surface is covered in craters, mountains, and plains, and it lacks an atmosphere, making it unable to support life as we know it. NASA has conducted numerous missions to study the moon, including the Apollo missions, which allowed humans to land and walk on its surface in the late 1960s and early 1970s. These missions provided valuable insights into the moon's geology and history. Currently, NASA continues to explore the moon as part of its Artemis program, with the goal of sending astronauts back to the lunar surface and establishing a sustainable presence there. #NASA #space #moon #earth
