DailyKenn.com — 64-year-old Thomas Gill was fatally shot in Springfield, OH.

Daniel Taylor, Jr., 20, was indicted on murder and other charges including felonious assault, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance, having weapons under disability, and discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises.

Gill was a self-employed butcher, operating Gill’s Quality Meat Market since 1998. The affable businessman reportedly stood a towering 6'7" and weighed over 250 lbs.

He was reportedly shot while sitting in his vehicle.

“I need help, help! Someone just drove by. They shot him, they shot my dad,” his son said when calling 911.

Springfield's black population is 17.5 percent and its white population is 73.5 percent according to census.gov.
