If you look at the symbolism, when things drop from the skies, they have a sheer force that cannot be replicated by anything else

But when the waters gush from below, means the pressure is pushing water out.
There are then two types of pressures...
The water can be cold pressed (it has the power to rip and shred anything that stands in between)
The water can be hot, then it will not only shred, but it will also boil anything that comes in contact, with that is a double whammy.

Another symbolism is that when the waters started to release from the oven (as reported in the theological doctrines) - it indicated heated water.

If the heated water is coming from the oven - an oven is also an indication of cooked water = that is lava/water coming out from the crevasses.
