I'm Gonna Cosmic Ocean (100 Deaths)

A Compilation of deaths during my attempt to reach the cosmic ocean. Honestly I don't even get very far in the cosmic ocean itself. It will take a long time for me to be able to actually beat the cosmic ocean.

Spelunky is a relatively straight forward game, you start from the top of a cave and you make your way down collecting treasure, saving damsels, buying/stealing from shopkeepers, trying to escape various traps and from various enemies.

In this case the goal was to reach the cosmic ocean which involves going way out of your way to complete a few specific tasks in order to reach a special zone and beating a special boss before finally reaching the cosmic ocean.

What is required to reach the cosmic ocean is the bow from the second stage you obtain during the mattock challenge. You must take the bow with you up until you fight the Olmec boss after the end of the second stage where you can store it with Waddle.

Instead of fighting the Queen Tiamat boss you will instead make your way up towards a series of lasers that turn on and off. The safest way to do this is by using the ride-able beast known as Qilin which has a bunch of per-requisites in order to get.

Once passed the lasers you will enter an Olmec shapped ship and make your way to the secret Sunken City levels where you will again meet Waddle to reclaim your bow. You will do one last challenge where you must survive an onslaught of enemies for a period of time before you can get the arrow of light for the bow.

You will then take the bow with the arrow of light to the final boss Hundun. After defeating Hundun instead of exiting the area you will shoot the eye of Hundun with the bow and the arrow of light to unlock the cosmic ocean.

The cosmic ocean is a mismatch of all the previous zones with a space backdrop. The exit door will be blocked by a cosmic jellyfish that will instantly kill you if you touch it. In order to unblock the door you must destroy 3 cosmic orbs, this will prompt the cosmic jellyfish to chase you down so you have to be quick to get to the exit. There are 99 levels of cosmic ocean so it is a long way before you can complete it.

I myself only got to level one before dying, skill issue I guess.
