Fearing Higher Rates, US Companies Borrowing at Record Pace

US Companies issued bonds at a record rate this week indicating that US companies believe interest rates will either rise or remain elevated for the foreseeable future. This is adding to liquidity strain in the debt market as demand for cash continues to rise amid shrinking supply.

Elsewhere, China is considering expanding it's iPhone ban at national government agencies to also include state-owned enterprises and local governments. This has put pressure on Apple's share price as the company gets roughly 20% of it's revenue from Chinese markets.
