eel the horrible burden of Time, which breaks your shoulders, bending you to the ground, you need to get drunk without rest.

But with what? With wine, poetry, virtue. As you wish. But, get drunk.

And if, sometime, on the steps of a palace, in the green grass of a ditch, in the warm solitude of your room, you wake up with your intoxication already diminished or gone, ask the wind, the wave, the star, the bird, the clock , to everything that runs away, to everything that generates, to everything that rolls, to everything that sings, to everything that speaks, ask what time it is. And the wind, the wave, the star, the bird, the clock will answer you:

- It's time to get drunk! In order not to be martyred slaves of Time, get drunk! Get drunk without ceasing! With wine, poetry, virtue! As you wish!

Charles Baudelaire , Petits poémes en prose, 1869.
