6+ People Injured After Wisconsin Pier Collapse

(warning: distressing) At least 6 people were injured after a pier at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Memorial Union Terrace collapsed, sending dozens of college partygoers into the waters of Lake Mendota directly below.
According to the local fire department, approx 60-80 people were hanging out on the pier at the moment it gave way. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured but one person did go to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
