Elon Musk just called out Mark Zuckerberg for manipulating and lying to the public, intensifying the rivalry between the two tech billionaires. Here’s what happened:

A Sky News Australia investigation uncovered evidence showing the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology signed a secret contract with Meta, to censor news stories on Facebook.

This took place despite the platform knowing it was a breach of the rules Mark Zuckerberg established to distance himself from fact checking responsibilities.

The university used the powers Facebook has given it to throttle Sky News Australia’s Facebook page with false fact checks multiple times this year, breaching the Meta-endorsed IFCN Code of Principles and preventing millions of Australians from reading or watching Sky News Australia’s journalism.

Elon called out Zuckerberg's shady moves on X with this post, but it could be considered a little hypocritical considering the Twitter Files exposed Elon and Twitter for doing similar things.
