U.S. military repositioning in Niger 'a precautionary measure'

U.S. Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh on Thursday (September 7) explained why the Pentagon is repositioning some troops and equipment within Niger and will withdraw a small number of non-essential personnel, saying it is "a precautionary measure." It is the first major American military movement in Niger since a coup in July.
