Kunming, Yunnan, China - Kunming, the vibrant capital and largest city in Yunnan province, beckoned me to explore its local market and savor an array of delectable street foods.

Here's a rundown of the Chinese street food delights we indulged in at the market:

Rice Pudding - 5 RMB ($0.76) - A slightly fermented, sweet rice pudding with a hint of rice alcohol flavor. Quite delightful, though on the sweeter side.

Dumpling - 1 RMB ($0.15) - Irresistible sizzling dumplings filled with leek and egg, slightly oily but undeniably delicious.

Whole Duck - 20 RMB ($3.03) - Yunnan's famous roast duck, rivaling Beijing's style. We found a stall specializing in Yunnanese roast duck – a delicious find with friendly owners.

Pickled Pears - 5 RMB ($0.76) - An intriguing and supposedly healthy snack, known for aiding digestion.

Refreshing Drink - 2 RMB ($0.30) - Exceptionally sweet, yet refreshingly satisfying.

Tofu Noodles - 5.5 RMB ($0.83) - Tofu mixed with noodles, a unique street food combination. A tad plain but elevated by the assortment of sauces.

Rice Balls - 5 RMB ($0.76) - Delightful sesame rice balls, bursting with flavor.

Jacuzzi-Braised ½ Chicken - 15 RMB ($2.27) - A highlight of the market, not just for the flavorful chicken but also the captivating sight of a giant jacuzzi filled with boiling chickens. A bit bony but worth it.

Yellow Soybean Porridge - 3.5 RMB ($0.53) - A final stop for a bowl of soybean porridge paired with Chinese donuts. Surprisingly delicious, warming, and hearty.

To cap off our Chinese street food adventure in Kunming, Jerry and I, accompanied by his family, savored Chinese Yunnanese BBQ. A tasty and fitting end to an incredible day of street food exploration.
