The Reality of Knowing God

In this series, we will look at the obstacles to knowing God. The deception presented to Eve in the Garden was two-fold. He told Eve that if she ate from the Tree of Knowledge she would "know" good and evil. The second lie was that by "knowing" good and evil she would be like or equal to God. By choosing "knowledge" over "life," we will see that Eve, and then Adam, exchanged a relational understanding of God, and, therefore, a relationship with God (as Father), for a mere propositional (or lifeless) understanding of God that would make it almost impossible for man to know God as the Father until the Son appears to illustrate the relationship between the Father and His children empowered by union with the Father through the Holy Spirit.
