I began my career and ministry, trying to answer several questions for myself about which denomination or orthodoxy had the strongest truth claims. Certainly I was looking for early records because all scholars agree that early equals accurate when it comes to textual criticism. This doesn’t mean we take every document at face value. We have history, hagiography, apocrypha, psudepagripha, and many other variant styles.
