In this video I go over the process of replacing the valve cover gasket on a Toyota 2.4L 2AZ-FE engine. The particular vehicle featured in the video is a 2005 Scion TC. However, the 2.4L 2AZ-FE engine has been used by Toyota for many years on several of their models. So, much of the information, if not all, should apply to most vehicles equipped with the 2AZ-FE engine. (As always, please do your own research and verify.)

Here is a wikipedia article on the 2AZ-FE engine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_AZ_engine

Note: Toque specifications noted in video where found with a quick google search. It is advised to obtain a reputable repair manual to verify this videos proper application.

Note: Use care when using a razor blade to clean the mating surface on the cylinder head. Do not gouge or mare the metal surface as this could lead to oil leaks. This also applies to removing the RTV from the front of the cylinder head and the timing cover where the timing cover mates to the cylinder head. Also, as noted in text at the 4:00 mark, use care not to allow threads that may break away from the Brillo pad from entering the engine. This care should also be used when cleaning the valve cover. Threads could fall onto the valve cover and if they are not removed could enter the engine possibly causing engine damage.
