"Blessed suffering" seems like an oxymoron. How could blessing be associated with suffering? Peter tells us that if we suffer because we belong to Christ and are walking with Him, then we are actually blessed in our suffering. God redeems our suffering to bring about good in our lives and to mature us more into the image of His son.
