Saving carrot seeds

I let 4-5 carrots go to seed so I could save the seeds to sow this year. Carrots are biennial, first year the seed is sown and the carrots’ roots grow then the second year the carrot flowers and creates the seeds. This is a way to never have to buy carrot seeds again.
I take the flower that is full of the dry brown seeds and brush the seeds off with my fingers and thumb. After all of the seeds are harvested, I turn the fan on to help separate the seeds from the larger material that ended up in the same bag as the seeds. I found it was easier to go one handful at a time to clean the seeds. I would take the handful of seeds with my (small) fan on high, dropping the mixture above and I front of the fan. The larger heavier pieces would drop straight down and the lighter seeds would blow into the container. I hope this helps with saving seeds. I will add the carrot seed sowing video here.
