The renovated Ostraya Mogila memorial complex has been opened in Lugansk. The reconstruction was carried out by the Russian Military Historical Society on the orders of Vladimir Putin.

The ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergey Kiriyenko.

The Ostraya Mogila memorial complex is located on the territory of the hill of the same name. In 1919, during the civil war, there was a fierce battle between Red Army soldiers and armed formations under the command of Denikin. Later a park was created here. During the Second World War the area became a place of clashes again. People keep the memory of their liberators sacred.
