Russian Maintenance battalion puts hardware back in service

Servicemen of the maintenance battalion of the Zapad Group of Forces are continuously restoring and repairing military hardware and armaments.

Servicemen called up from the reserve as part of the partial mobilisation, volunteers and representatives of manufacturing plants are carrying out combat tasks in the same formation as specialists from the maintenance battalion of the Western Military District.

All modifications of main battle tanks and IFVs are repaired.

Thanks to the high qualifications of the servicemen of the repair units, as well as modern maintenance and repair vehicles, repair work of any complexity is carried out.

In addition, the servicemen from repair units carry out modernisation of hardware and armaments in the field. For example, the military personnel equip armoured vehicles with additional protective shields.

The servicemen perform their tasks in several shifts, which makes it possible to carry out work both day- and nighttime.

The speed of repair in workshops deployed in the field is the envy of the best car service centres. But speed of repair is not at the expense of quality. After repairs, the soldiers take the crew's seats themselves and make sure to check each vehicle before returning it to the front line.

The final stage is to check the quality of the maintenance battalion's work. The vehicle arrives at the site where the serviceability of units and assemblies is checked. There is a special testing ground near the repair workshop for this purpose.
