Mysterious topography.
The Benten-sama sits at a location down a flight of stairs from the riverside path.
It looks like an embankment to protect it from the flooding of the Tama River.
Although Benten-sama appears to be a taciturn deity, there is not a single piece of trash on the grounds of the temple,
It is assumed that someone regularly purifies the temple grounds.
The adjacent Suijinja Shrine is also quiet.
It is a sanctuary where you can calm your mind.

Visiting shrines in Tokyo, one is often surprised to find sanctuaries that have remained protected by the people.
Flood, fire, earthquake, war, and worship.
Small shrines, shrines on the rooftops of buildings, shrines directly under expressways.
Sanctuaries that are close to people in any form, and the guardians who protect them.
I made this video to share these beautiful images with you!
The Japanese landscape and the Japanese people of the past remain in old photographs.
Some of the photos are around 100 years old, some are about 150 years old, and some are 85 years old.
Please feel the connection with the people of the past!

Furusato (Hometown)
Composed by Teiichi Okano, lyrics by Tatsuyuki Takano
Shoka by the Ministry of Education, published in the sixth grade of "Shoka for Elementary School Students" in 1914.
Rabbit chasing, the mountain of a hare
Fishing for crucian carp, the river of Kano
Yume ha mondemo megurite
Obito gakemono hometown
How are your parents?
Tsutsugami-no-shinai ya tomogaki (Tsutsugami-no-shinashi, Tomogaki)
"Even in the rain and wind..."
I remember my hometown.
"I will follow my heart."
Someday I will return home.
Mountains are blue, my hometown.
The water is clear.
Kono Michi
Japanese children's song with lyrics by Kitahara Hakushu and music by Yamada Kosaku
Kono michi wa itsuka kita michi
Oh, yes, it is.
Akashiya no hana ga hana ga hana ni iru.
Ano hoka wa itsuka mita hoka
Ah, that's right.
Look, there's the white clock tower.
This is the road I came down.
Yes, it is.
I rode with your mother in a carriage.
And those clouds. The clouds I've seen.
Oh, yes.
And the branches of the prickly ash.
My name is Mayu Noda.
I will introduce the charm of shrines around Tokyo, which I love.
Sometimes temples too.
