The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth organization in India that was created in 1948 with the aim of developing character, leadership, discipline, and a spirit of service among young people. The organization is open to students from schools and colleges all over India, and it has both army and navy wings. NCC activities include training in areas such as drill, shooting, first aid, map reading, and camping, as well as social and community service projects. NCC cadets are also given opportunities to participate in various national and international events and parades. The organization is considered to be one of the largest youth organizations in the world, with over 13 lakh (1.3 million) cadets enrolled in 2021.
