Does Texas Medicaid cover assisted living expenses? In most cases the answer is 'no'. Texas Medicaid primarily covers nursing home care in a facility. There are some waiver programs available but they have long wait lists. There are also a handful of community based facilities that do accept Medicaid but they are few and far between.
