All three of Noah's sons had children of their own and they were all born after the flood. There are 16 recorded grandsons of Noah, and there were probably more than that. These 16 grandsons listed, would be the ancestors of major people, groups and nations in various parts of the world.

The Tower of Babel resulted in the different language families we have today. We have thousands of different languages today, but only a few language groups that are separate and distinct from one another. The dispersion from Babel would cause separated and isolated groups to scatter to different parts of the world. It's likely that family members could communicate with one another, but the vastly different languages spoken by other families it caused separation and isolation from one another, so they went in different directions. That's what Elohim told them to do, He didn't tell him to gather in cities He told them to go out and take possession of the earth. They didn’t listen, they weren't doing that, this caused them to do that. This caused isolation and separation from one another into groups; and like I said, apparently families could communicate, a husband and wife could communicate with one another, but they couldn't communicate with the neighbors anymore, so they went out and dispersed. When they repopulated, there was a lot of apparent, well you could say, incestual type relationships going on because they didn't associate with one another, and they also went to different parts of the world. When this happened, it led to variations to be fixed in different populations. Variations like head shape and skin color and certain facial features would be fixed among certain populations due to that early incestual repopulation. That's where we get the idea of races okay, there is no such thing as races, we're all one blood. We can all trace our genes back to a same ancestor, we all look different we're all different shades and sizes and different shapes. We can all get blood transfusions from one another, organs can be transplanted, we're all the same, we're all the same people. It's sad to see the divisions that we have so often, but that's just how man is in his sinful condition. After the flood we had this drop in life spans and it was drastic, the loss is exponential, the loss in life spans. It's likely due to genetic deterioration over time. They say that our genes just come to an end at a certain time and you're not going to live past that. I’m sure that at one time when man was initially created, his lifespan was intended to be much greater but right after the flood, everything dropped off. Within just a few generations lifespans went from 900 some-odd years to under 100. The early patriarchs of these nations, now keep in mind, right after the flood the Tower of Babel happened, there's a huge dispersion, and the early patriarchs ended up living longer than their sons and grandsons and they would live over many generations and they're succeeding generations didn't live near as long. What happened was, apparently, these early patriarchs that lived so long were revered and may have even been recalled as gods due to oral tradition, just due to their due to their long lifespan. The people groups often named their lands and these mythological gods they had, after these ancestors and it makes complete sense. They were living hundreds of years and their sons and grandsons were not.
