The Drover's Wife by Boudicca (Cover - Questfest 2023)

Last night the folks at Questfest (thanks Karl & @girthswordpromotions6666 ) allowed me (for the fourth time) to play an acoustic #filk set at the start of this unique and brilliant folk metal event at The Basement in Canberra. (It's also coming to Melbourne next weekend).

Boudicca (@boudiccaaus ) were the opening band, coming from Newcastle for their first Questfest. Madeleine Mitchell was, without doubt, the most powerfully angry singer of the 8-bands that played last night, backed by a brilliant line-up and a last minute stand-in drummer who did a cracking job.

I'm a folkie, so it was fascinating to hear lyrics which could have been penned by Henry, Banjo or Woody Guthrie sung in a metal style.
