Detroit court waives fees for "Gain Your Independence" amnesty event

Hundreds of people took advantage of an Independence Day amnesty offer from Detroit's 36th District Court, a win win for the city and those with outstanding fees. The court's "Gain Your Independence" event provided a waiver of all late fees, penalties and warrant costs to individuals who showed up at court between July 1st and the 4th, and paid the balance of their tickets in full.
