Several North Dakota broadband providers have been awarded grants to enhance service in rural areas. Mark Forseth from Halstad Telephone discusses with the Ladies the significance of delivering dependable internet service to rural North Dakota.

Emily Vernlund tragically lost her mother to a short battle with breast cancer. During her period of mourning, Emily was consoled by reading accounts of 9/11 survivors. She dreamt of her mother, who encouraged her to visit the 9/11 Memorial in New York City. In one of her most challenging moments, Emily considered ending her life by jumping into the Hudson River. However, just then, the rain ceased, and she could discern the beams of the Twin Towers, feeling a comforting warmth. She retreated from the water's edge and began penning "Finding Perspective Through 9/11 - A Single Mom's Journey Through Depression, Death, Lupus, and Discovering the Will to Survive."

Dr. Kroner suffered a vaccine-related complication after a flu shot during her pregnancy, nearly resulting in the loss of her baby. Today, her son is a thriving 13-year-old. Residing in California, where neither religious nor medical exemptions for vaccines are permitted, she observed numerous children being sidelined or marginalized post-Covid vaccine. This observation led her to write "I'm Unvaccinated and That's OK!" - a book tailored for children and their parents.

TAKEAWAYS

- Grant funds will enable many of North Dakota's rural areas to access broadband fiber.

- It's possible to overcome intense grief.

- Children shouldn't be marginalized for their vaccination status.
