What I've Learned From Being A Youth Leader

Being a Youth Leader at Church has been one of the most rewarding things Ive done in my life. I have learnt alot over the past 3+ years of leading youth at my local church. Transitioning from being a member of the youth for many years and being led by others, and now being blessed with the opportunity to lead myself.

I have learnt some very valuable life lessons, which is why I wanted to make a video today about what has stuck with me from the last few years, and has allowed me to continue to be a youth leader for as long as I have. These are values passed down to me from others around me who have spent many years in youth leadership. These values can be applied to your life to help you when you find yourself in situations that require leadership, or if you have any desire to carry influence. For many years now it has been one of my goals to be someone who has influence over others in a positive manner. I have tried to follow this out through my position as a youth leader at my church, as well as here through this community called Better Than Yesterday.

Some of the lessons learnt include being consistent, building relationships, providing energy, the WHY of Youth Leadership, the importance of being genuine, carrying influence and the responsibility you carry as a youth leader.
Please do leave a comment of your thoughts and opinions! We would love to get your feedback and continue to improve the content as each episode comes out!
Sincerely,
BTY
