Brand new school opens in Mariupol

A new school that can accommodate 1100 children has opened its doors in Mariupol. Hundreds of pairs of neatly pulled-up socks and polished shoes made their way down the corridors and into the classrooms to begin a new school year, in footage captured on Friday.

The new school has state of the art facilities, including extracurricular clubs and working science labs so the kids can get involved in hands-on study. ‘Today we have a double holiday, because we are opening a school, one of the largest schools, probably, not only in the Donetsk People’s Republic, but also in the Russian Federation,’ said Victoria Bondareva, the school’s director.
