Russian Federation ensured the safe rotation of International Atomic Energy

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation ensured the safe rotation of International Atomic Energy Agency mission observers at the Zaporozhye NPP. 

For this purpose, a ceasefire regime was declared within a 1-km radius of the observers' designated place of passage – the destroyed bridge near the village of Vasilievka – which was strictly observed by Russian servicemen. 

During the crossing, the Ukrainian side attempted to discredit the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as a guarantor of the security of the rotation by using munitions simulating explosions on the route of the inspectors. 

Despite the AFU's provocation, Russian servicemen managed to ensure the safe passage of the mission's observers and their transportation to the station.

The mission consists of five inspectors, their task is to monitor and assess the safety of Zaporozhye NPP. IAEA experts have been present at Zaporozhye NPP since 1 September 2022 after the first visit of the Agency's Director General Rafael Grossi to the Plant.
