B.H Clendennen - The Nation that forgets God
Psalms 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
Psalms 50:22, “Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.”
America has forgotten the God of the Bible. In the 1960's we forgot God by removing prayer and the Bible from our schools. In the 1970's we forgot God by legalizing abortion in our hospitals.
That is so evil and sad. We read in Daniel 5:23, “...the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified.” It is a sad day in America, and clear evidence of the apostasy, when its citizens tolerate such messages in public, being taunted in our faces to provoke us. It is a shame!
This ad is incredibly insulting! Do you think you could get away with saying something like, “Why believe in Evolution?” Absolutely not! So why is it ok to attack Christian beliefs at one of the most important holidays for us? I think it is a despicable show of character on the part of the advertisers and the public transportation company which allowed this filth. It is also a horrible reflection on the mayor and leaders of Washington D.C.
God gave His only begotten Son to die for us miserable wretches... “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). God gave the ultimate sacrifice for us, His only Son. Yet, we spit in Jesus' face by rejecting Him.
Romans 1:21 states, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” The Bible teaches in Romans 1:21 that everyone knows God at some point in life (“when they knew God”), but many people refuse to acknowledge God in their life because they're ungrateful and selfish, and it's a downhill road from there.
Why Believe in a God?
I'll answer their question with a single Scripture, Romans 1:20...
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse."
Any honest person knows that there is a God. The more proper question therefore is...
Why Not Believe in a God?
The Bible says that only a fool says there's no God... "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good" (Psalm 14:1). Why wouldn't a person believe in God? The evidence is overwhelming that God does exist. Just by studying the massive complexities of the universe it is astronomically unlikely that a stable planet like earth could exist, with all the correct balances of nature, the absolutely amazing features of life, and all the spenders that life has to offer. From the sweetness of a banana, to the sourness of a lemon, to the richness of the avocado—why wouldn't a person believe in God?
How did 7,000 languages come into existence if all mankind evolved from the same biological origin without any divine intervention or influence? Why is there no recorded civilizations prior to 4,000 B.C. (i.e., the time which the Bible sets as the creation of mankind)? If giraffes grew long necks over billions of years to reach the food on the trees, then what did they eat before they had long necks? If men evolved from apes, then why are there still apes? After being born and raised in a human family in California for over 30-years, Koko the gorilla failed to develop any human qualities; but rather, possessed only basic trained animal qualities. Hypocritically, the same humanists who relentlessly place God on trial, unquestioningly accept the unproven theories of Evolution. The very fact that God and His Word are continually under malicious attack by wicked people is proof of God's sovereignty.
If there's one time of the year when people ought to be thankful and rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, it is at Christmas time. Although there are certain pagan elements to Christmas, such as the imposter Santa Claus, society by large recognizes Christmas as a celebration of the birth of the Savior into the world (which is why humanists hate it so much). What bothers me the most is not the blasphemous signs placed on public transportation buses, it's the lack of outcry from the public, from the passengers and from the Church. I wouldn't ride one of those buses if you paid me.
Yes, America has truly forgotten God, and we're going to pay dearly for our stiffnecked arrogance and rebellion against the God of the Bible.
"Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." —John 20:29
