Like A Dragon: Ishin! Chapter 8- The Mad Dog Howls

Ryōma's world shatters when he uncovers a sinister plot: an impostor masquerading as him, orchestrating clandestine arms deals with the British. Behind this nefarious scheme stands Navy Admiral Katsu Rintarō. Determined to unearth the truth, Ryōma sets his sights on interrogating Satsuma Domain Army commander Saigō Kichinosuke. However, the commander remains steadfast, refusing to yield any secrets.

Amidst the turmoil, a summons arrives from Shinsengumi Chief Kondō Isami, a man who also holds knowledge of Ryōma's true identity. Kondō unveils a daring plan a calculated strike that would reduce Kyoto to ashes, compelling Emperor Meiji's retreat to Edo, transforming it into Japan's new capital. In a clandestine meeting, Kondō implores Ryōma to join his cause, offering the tantalizing bait of revealing the identity of Tōyō's murderer. Yet, with steely resolve, Ryōma declines, firm in his commitment to his own convictions and path.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! (龍が如く 維新! 極, Ryū Ga Gotoku Ishin! Kiwami, lit. "Like a Dragon: Restoration! Extreme") is a remake of the 2014 game Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin!, which was a Japanese-exclusive action role-playing game historical thriller spinoff of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

This remake was developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and released worldwide on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows on February 21, 2023, with owners of the Digital Deluxe edition being granted access on February 17, 2023.
