Put a Balloon over your Faucet and WATCH WHAT HAPPENS 💥

Surely you always make your faucet nice and clean and then it shines again really nice. But at the Perlator, or the strainer where the water comes out, also accumulates a lot of dirt, but you usually do not really see. Over time, this calcifies more and more and at some point the water pressure is reduced or the water splashes everywhere and no longer comes out as a uniform jet. But you can do something about it, to remove the lime and the whole without you have to unscrew the aerator!

All you need is a balloon and some vinegar. We put some vinegar into the balloon with the help of a funnel and then we put the balloon over the faucet. And we do this until the vinegar mixture in the balloon hits the calcified areas on the aerator. You may have to fix it with a rubber band at the end, so that the vinegar does not simply run out again. If your faucet is a bit too big and you can't get the balloon over it, you can also use a freezer bag. Fill it with vinegar as well, pull it over the faucet and then fix it at the end with rubber bands.

In the next step, we should let this mixture work once for about 1 hour. If the calcification is really strong, you can leave it on the tap for two hours if you like. After that you just have to remove the balloon or the freezer bag and you can see a difference directly. If you now turn on the faucet once, the dissolved lime will also come out here and you may have to wipe it again briefly with a sponge.

After that, the lime on the faucet and on the aerator should be gone, the faucet will run again really nice and clean and with enough pressure, as it should!

Try this little cleaning trick therefore necessarily once with you!
