Ultima VII: The Black Gate — A Time of Darkness, a World of Fear… | DOS [#09]

In their last adventure the Avatar and his Companions set sail for the infamous Isle of Fire, once the home of the dæmonic entity known as Exodus! Rising from the waves, the isle had retained Exodus' "dark core," and while separate from its psyche it still remained a danger that threatened to plunge all of Britannia into a new "Age of Darkness." By passing the tests of Truth, Love, and Courage, the Avatar bolstered his abilities and found the tools necessary for banishing the "dark core" into the Void.

Evil does not rest, however, and Exodus was only one malevolent force seeking to dominate the fair folk of the land. Another sinister being, the "Guardian," has enticed people into his service, a "Fellowship" bent to his dark will; they have even managed to disrupt the magical Ether that permeates the world, causing spells to fail and mages to go mad! A solution may have been found, however, to destroy the "anti-magic" generators they've constructed… but such requires the "Ethereal Ring" in the possession of Draxinusom — King of the Gargoyles!
