On Oct. 14, 2023, a "ring of fire," or annular, sunlight based shroud will go from Oregon coast to the Inlet of Mexico. Assuming the rainclouds hold back, the vast majority of the Americas will actually want to see basically a fractional sun powered overshadow. An annular sun powered overshadow happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, yet is simply far away enough in its circle that the Sun isn't totally covered — making an enormous, brilliant ring overhead.

Caution: During an annular overshadowing, it is never protected to gaze straight toward the Sun without specific eye security intended for sun based survey. Instructions to securely see a shroud: https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/shrouds...

Not in that frame of mind of the overshadowing? Watch with us from anyplace on the planet. We will give live transmission inclusion on Oct. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. EDT (1530-1715 UTC) on NASA television, NASA.gov, the NASA application, and here on YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/LlY79zjud-Q
