Jaipur, also known as the Pink City, is the capital of Rajasthan and a popular tourist destination. It is famous for its rich cultural heritage, especially its palaces that showcase the splendor of the Rajput dynasties. Here are some of the famous palaces and things to do in Jaipur:
- City Palace: A grand complex that includes the Chandra Mahal and the Mubarak Mahal, along with courtyards, gardens, and museums. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century and reflects a blend of Rajasthani, Mughal, and European styles .

- Hawa Mahal: A unique palace that resembles a honeycomb with 953 small windows or jharokhas. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 as an extension of the City Palace. It was designed to allow the royal ladies to observe the street life without being seen .
- Nahargarh Fort: A hilltop fort that offers a panoramic view of Jaipur and its surroundings. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734 as a defensive structure. It also houses a wax museum, a sculpture park, and a restaurant .
- Albert Hall Museum: A museum that displays a collection of artifacts, paintings, sculptures, textiles, weapons, and musical instruments from Rajasthan and other parts of India. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II in 1876 as a public hall. It is inspired by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London .
- Birla Mandir: A temple that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi. It was built by the Birla family in 1988 using white marble. It has intricate carvings, stained glass windows, and a large garden .
- Jantar Mantar: An astronomical observatory that was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734. It consists of 19 instruments that measure time, celestial bodies, eclipses, and other phenomena. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site .
