Are you confused about the difference between archetypes and stereotypes? In this video, we explain the difference between the two and how they can be used in writing. An archetype is the fundamental building blocks that are always there, while a stereotype is when you do the same thing multiple times and it's all the same. We also explain the difference between static and dynamic archetypes. For example, Luke Skywalker is a dynamic archetype because he changes from a boy on a farm to a coming of age, knight in shining armor, and mentor. Dumbledore is a static archetype because he never changes. Writing with archetypes has made it much easier for us to manage our stories and characters.
