Let's discuss eating in Helen Georgia. Have YOU been there?
Where did you fill your belly?
We ate at Bigg Daddys Helen Georgia
Here's my quick review. Do it! Just do it!
Quick tip; sitting at the bar get's first come first serve business.
When we arrived, we were told it would be about a 2hr wait for a table, but the bar was available.
Of course we chose the bar.
I chose to try The Balboa - their version of the Philly Cheesteak with a side of waffle fries (other choice was coleslaw)
Sandra had the 12oz center cut Sirloin Steak - medium rare
We shared an order of parmesan garlic wings.
I don't have beer often, but I went with a BlueMoon and slice of orange.
Prices were exactly what you would expect them be.
The staff were pleasant, super busy, but efficient and organized.
The food was very good! I won't say GREAT, because I have expectations when it comes to a cheesesteak 😉
Sandra's steak was NOT medium rare, we will call it almost Medium/Medium well. It was very tender and the smile on her face described her happiness. Her side was a double serving of steamed broccoli.
The wings were GREAT! Served with a generous scoop of buttery garlic parmesan. Cooked perfectly; and I'm a picky wing eater.
Now let's discuss my cheesesteak. I was not a fan of the cheese used. They call it a house cheddar cheese. It was more of a watery white mess. Not sure what they used, but I swore I tasted gouda.
They were very generous with the amount of steak they make the sandwiches with.
I would rate the sandwich at a 3.5/5 stars.
I wouldn't order it again.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend eating there! I will eat there again. If you eat outside, you will also enjoy LIVE music played by local bands.
