Growing up it was said “kids are the future”
Now, it’s the same old story
Us adults were those kids and we’re just used to how we recycle the glory
You can be anything your heart desires
Wow, that’s a little bit corny
All the kids hit or miss, they’re just a part of the crowd
And it seems they’re ignoring

Those who told them “study hard and read to learn”
They chose who sold them on a world where they get burned
Propose a system rigged to fail and keep them stern
Supposed I scold them, come a day it will be your turn

Healthy/sick, poor or rich it doesn’t matter to the ones with the power
Throw a fit, don’t admit nothing will ever be true…so continue to cower
What is this?...same old shit, we just continue to lose getting by for an hour
Make a wish, I insist we work on attitudes
‘Cause we’re trapped in a tower

Rise and fall, hope we get to something new
Despise it all, drop the ball and catch 22
Surprised by calls for a growth in mindset view
Demise and stall, ‘cause they’re fixed and won’t learn truth

I don’t wanna be here alone, I’m doomed
Dystopia, the middle class gets poned…
