U.S. Senator Mitt Romney has spoken out:

"By the way, the fact that we are spending an amount equivalent to about 5% of our defense budget, and in fact, even less than 5% of our annual defense budget, to help the Ukrainians is the best investment in our nation's defense in history. We have no human casualties in Ukraine, and the Ukrainians are fighting heroically against Russia, whose nuclear weapons are aimed at us. So we are shrinking and destroying the Russian army for a very small amount of money compared to what we spend on other defense items. A weak Russia is a good thing. It's the best thing for America to make sure that people with nuclear weapons aimed at us get weaker and weaker."
