Gallium Metal Crushed By Hydraulic Press Becomes Liquid Metal

In this video I crush the pure element gallium with a hydraulic press. I show how the gallium becomes a liquid at just above room temperature. Then I pour the gallium into a mold to make the ingot that I will crush in the hydraulic press. I take the ingot and then crush it in the hydraulic press. As the press comes down it melts the gallium. It is not actually form the pressure of the press, but from the temperature increase from heating up due to getting crushed by the hydraulic press and also due to the hydraulic press being a little warm enough to melt the gallium. After I crush it the gallium becomes solid again, so in order to remove it from the hydraulic press I put the metal plate in some warm water and then just pour it off. If you would like to know where I got my gallium from, I just ordered it from Amazon. It is awesome. Not know to be toxic so you can play with it unlike mercury.
