Who was silent film star Mae Marsh (1894-1968)? The rumored fiancé of Ernest Hemingway, the beloved mother and the woman who stole parts right under Mary Pickford's nose, Marsh followed her older sister Marguerite into movies. You can spot Marsh in Griffith's masterpiece Intolerance (1916). Advocating for more well-rounded heroines, Marsh appeared in over 200 films in her career.
