Dinner on a budget: Celebrate Father's Day by feeding your family 'beer can' burgers for under $20

Once again I am taking action to help you create a dinner on a budget. In honor of Father's Day, I want to shower dad with some love by serving up a tasty recipe for "beer can" hamburgers I found on Delish.com. This week 85% extra lean ground beef is on sale for $3.99 a pound at Sprouts Farmers Market. You can find ground beef containing more fat at a cheaper price, but it is not as healthy and the higher fat content could interfere with the meat flavor in your burgers. The recipe uses beer cans to form a bowl in the middle of the burgers that you stuff with bacon, cheddar cheese and jalapeño peppers *or* grilled onions and peppers. Make sure to pair your burgers with a six-pack of locally brewed beer and dad will be in hog heaven.
