So how did this happen? Where did all of these people come from and why are they here? Well that's the big miracle isn't it? This channel began 5ish years ago as a way for me to share my life with people. I was getting ready to have my first baby, a daughter, and my world was changing. I left the job I had been working for several years where I was directing the Los Angeles location of an organization which supports professionals working in fashion and entertainment. We moved into a new home after having lived a like a bit like gypsies for years, running Calling All Skaters and traveling around Los Angeles with a group of skateboarders, sleeping on floors and using skateboarding to invest in the lives of young people. I also had been directing a women's ministry, teaching girls and women in different nations about beauty, identity and value. It was an exciting time of life, but having a new baby and moving into a real home meant my life would shift from things like traveling, leading and speaking, to nursing, baby-holding, and significantly less interactions with people other than my family. I missed connecting with people and the joy I felt encouraging others. Youtube gave me a new outlet to do just that. I was able to build a channel where documenting life and encouraging people could coincide. My channel was not always a "mom channel". I made a few popular videos early on, like "How to Have a Baby Without an Epidural", but the bulk of my videos were about different parts of my life, like travel, friendship, and random videos I made with Shaun about relationships. After we moved back to Los Angeles in 2018 after living in Spain for two years, we were expecting the arrival of our second child, a son. At that we relaunched my Youtube channel and from there the motherhood theme began to take shape. Once Wilson was born I started making videos to help parents care for their new babies, because it is what I wish existed when I had my daughter Eloise. I felt so lost and alone and I wanted my channel to help ease those feelings for moms and parents in general. My Baby 101 videos were born from there. The heart of my channel is to cheer people on and offer support in their parenting journey. It is my hope to make videos about other elements of my life, because I am much more than just a mom, but for now, with two young kids, I only have so much time to film and edit, so the videos will remain focused on things related to raising babies. It is my joy to serve people online and I am always grateful for the messages and comments I receive sharing how my online presence has positively impacted others. THANK YOU.
