After making parenting/mom-related YouTube videos w/my best friend Becca Prins for years we decided to start a small e-commerce/online business for families in 2020. This happened during the time that i found out i was pregnant with my third baby and Covid shutdowns had just begun in Los Angeles. It was all crazy. My family knew we wanted to start a business for years so we had savings to invest in this adventure. In this video we share how much money we put in, what steps we took to start our business, advice for moms wanting to start a small business, how much money we have made, what is working with our business, what is causing stress, and tips for keeping a small business alive right now.

PS. We used Legal Zoom to create an LLC and Shopify to launch our shop. We use Faire as a resource for wholesale products. Sarah Grunder built our website and we manage everything ourselves. We hired an accounting firm to oversee our bookkeeping and a friend to help us with Facebook ads. We don’t take a paycheck yet and anyone who helps us pack boxes is compensated with food or products. Our goal is to do 100k in revenue by September of 2021. That would be a dream.
