Bailey O'Brien's Stage IV Melanoma Survivor Story

Bailey was very fearful and afraid of going out into the world. It carried through to high school and college. Bailey felt pressure academically, athletically, and socially. She thought she had no strength in those areas. Bailey turned to food a lot for that.

After Thanksgiving, her mom drove Bailey back to school. Bailey said she has a mole. She went to the student health, and they checked it out. Later, Bailey found out she had melanoma. Doctors injected a tracer through a procedure called lymphoscintigraphy.

A month and a half later, she had a parotidectomy, a radical neck dissection. Doctors took 45 lymph nodes from her neck. Bailey's oncologist recommended scans every six months, which she did for about another two years.

She had a scan at the beginning of her senior year of college. Bailey has been in a relationship and remembers telling her parents it felt worse than having cancer. Later, she had a biopsy that returned positive for melanoma.

She was looking forward to senior year and doing better. Bailey had several surgeries. In the meantime, another tumor had grown and was pressing against her earlobe. Doctors removed the earlobe and a cancer in the clavicle area the night before surgery.

Bailey also had something in her adenoids. She had a lot of facial paralysis. Bailey was diagnosed with melanoma three times. No conventional treatments worked. Then, her mother's friend told her about alternative health.

She found that there were people who reversed stage IV cancer, and her friend started doing research and brought one of the supplements with some miracle stories. Bailey also took infusions of Coley's toxins.
