Prigozhin: Last of the Romans

When faced with the extinguishing of spirit, We, us few, always feel it. We always know that the Sun became a little bit dimmer. But these are not normal times, nor was Prigozhin a normal man. He created his own spirit, imparted it on every single one of his men. He brought back something primordial, something long since forgotten - and baptized the world with it - with fire.

Western countries were terrified of him and his brothers. They feared him over massive armies of various states. They knew the difference - we are dealing with warriors, and we have never prepared to fight such men. Despite his death, that fear has not abated. There are 50 thousand clones of Prigozhin still here.

The world was captivated by him, not just due to his PR, his actions, his videos, but our own internal understanding that he was not like the rest. He had that spirit of adventure, of combat, of bending will around him. This was present for most of our time, but has vanished from modernity. Yet he rekindled that fire.

He was a rich man - a billionaire, with unlimited resources to live a life of luxury, of pleasure, hedonism, to play around with power and control - yet that wasn't his vision, that wasn't what his spirit called for. Instead, he sacrificed all of that to actually Live. We use the term "last of the Romans" to describe great men who represented - inhabited - the values of the greatest state. It almost feels like Prigozhin was older than Rome, perhaps the last of the Yamnaya...

In his life, Prigozhin would go to the front - I fondly recall the video from Bakhmut, at night, when he's on the rooftop, essentially on the front observing positions, commenting, joking with his boys. He wasn't from afar, he was there, he was in history. He led without care for fortune or his own personal safety. He looked death in the face and laughed. He lived by fire and was consumed by fire.

He chose to live like a warrior, like a man who spit in the face of modernity. He imparted his spirit across his men, but also across the world. He lives forever.
