Ultima VII: The Black Gate — The Will of the Wisps | DOS [#06]

In their last adventure the Avatar and his Companions took a magic carpet ride to see the infamous fortune teller of Minoc, Margareta! There she foretold of doom as malevolent forces destabilized the magical ether that permeated the world, threatening to consume all in its darkness!

…and such doom was not far off, as her own community had fallen prey to the same brutal and ritualistic-style of murder that had taken the life of Spark's father. For what purposes are such blood sacrifices being made, and what does the Fellowship hope to gain from it as they infiltrate and ostracize the fair people of Britannia?

Perhaps some of those answers could be found within Moonglow, as the Avatar travelled to the legendary library and observatory called "The Lycæum" to seek council; the welcome wasn't entirely warm, however, as he was reunited with a former companion, Mariah the Mage, who had been driven mad by the disrupted ether. It seemed that the disruptions were tied to a rare planetary alignment, and the Avatar was told to seek out the wisdom of the legendary "Time Lord," whose location was known only to those mysterious entities, the Wisps…
